Wheelchair Access: The Kentucky Center offers wheelchair access on every seating and parking level. The Brown Theatre offers several wheelchair accessible locations on the orchestra level. A staff of trained volunteers will assist with directions and any accommodations. When purchasing your tickets, please ask to reserve wheelchair seating or request other assistance. The Brown Theatre now has handrails on the balcony level and the Bomhard Theater has handrails on both sides of the theater from top to bottom to provide better access to our patrons. |
Assistive Listening System: IInfrared hearing devices are available to provide hearing amplification for patrons in all venues of The Kentucky Center and Brown Theatre, including meeting spaces. Please reserve hearing devices when purchasing tickets or by calling Accessibility Services in advance at 502-562-0111 (V) or 502-562-0140 (TTY). Reservations must be made 48 hours in advance for performances in the MEX, Clark-Todd Hall, or any meeting spaces. |
Audio Description: Audio Description is available for selected performances and will enhance the theater experience for patrons who are blind or who have low vision. Describers provide a live, objective, descriptive delivery of the visual elements of a performance in between the dialogue via a small FM receiver. Please make reservations for this service at the time you purchase your ticket. |
Captioned Theater: Captioned Theater is provided for patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing for selected performances. The audible elements are shown on a sign, in real time, as each line is spoken or sung. Patrons should request seats best suited to captioning when they purchase their tickets. |
Sign Interpretation: Sign Interpretation is available for scheduled performances. Please make reservations a minimum of two weeks in advance. If no patrons have requested the service by the two week deadline date, the service will be cancelled.
Self-Guided Art Tour: A self-guided, audio-described tour of The Kentucky Center’s 20th century art collection is available. For more information, check with the volunteer stationed at the Information Desk in the main lobby.
